A Brief Background

Richard Schermerhorn, Jr. is a native of the Queensbury, New York area.  With a background in construction, he began building apartments in the region circa 1995.  Since then, the company has become vertically integrated to include real estate acquisitions, development, construction, management and maintenance of residential and commercial properties.  Handling most aspects of the development and management in-house or working closely with contractors ensures a level of quality and value unachievable by most in the North Country.

Schermerhorn employs experienced, courteous staff members to offer residents and clients a friendly and professional experience in all areas of service provided.  The Schermerhorn Standard is achieved by first considering the needs of businesses and residents as well as a positive contribution to the landscape of a growing area.  Quality and value are combined features that have become a trademark of the commercial and residential real estate built by Schermerhorn.

Current and recent projects include a brand new active adult (seniors) community, 2-bedroom garden-style and 3-bedroom townhouse style apartments, a single-family subdivision, airport hangars, and future development of commercial office space.
